Saturday, September 24, 2005 Last week effectively meant the last of my stay out days. I was informed of my unit posing a few days a go. It was a heart-thumping moment when my name was called. 41 Singapore Armour Regiment. Like how much more jinxed can i get! I heard that armour is one of the most xiong units around not to mention that I have no friends going there too, lonely all by myself. Like that's not enough, its also freaking far from my house. All those people who have better pes status get to slack in 'better' camps. I think i can babble on endlessly... boo~ I really hate SAF. A lot of things are done just for show. Like my stay in ALTI under the guise of 'on the job training'. OJT my arse. The ideal picture for it is supposed to be practical work for us (shall not bore you with the details) but it turned out in the end that all of us sat down and listen to instructors tell us what is supposed to be done. Sad fact of life. Oh i'm so enlightened by their heavenly preachings. So much so that I'm building castles in the air before they even know it. And the stupid commander keep on yakking about how important it is that we get the ITE cert from the OJT. No offense to any ITE people though, I just don't like the way things are done. Its just not right. Just like now, they say, according to procedures, we must do this do that yadayada, but in the end they would not be adhered to to save trouble. They want us to spearhead the change but the people at the top (not the very top) are resistant to it. Like what the hell are we supposed to do? Hey, its supposed to be done like this, sir. And we get to sign something. On another note, a stay in might actually do me some good. I've just started learning jap on my own (hopefully i can last it through) and the stay in would hopefully loosen up my cash strapped pockets (FYI, i only have 90 bucks left in my bank until my next pay, which is like in 3 weeks time. Donations to save the Wei Bin Poverty fund anyone?). And i get to train myself up. However, however good it may sound, I would never exchange anything for my freedom. Nothing beats being able to do what you want at your whims and fancy. In addition, you absolutely will not get punished for something that you didn't do wrong. Well, not likely anyway. Ok, enough ranting. Onto another topic. I've watched Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children last week. The effects and animation were awesome! Characters looked life-like. Tifa was especially pretty while Yuffie was very cute. Eye candy for the guys. Two thumbs up too to the fighting scenes and the music that came along with it. Made me fall in love with J-E-N-O-V-A again [the music, not the goddess :p] If only the show had more story in it, it would be perfect. Then again, it might be because of high expectations for the label. I shall not comment too much on the story element as i had not played the game before and maybe those who did might be able to connect more to it. Nonetheless, its still an awesome movie *Drools at the superb fighting sequences* For those who want a good laugh, I'd absolutely recommend The Longest Yard. Standard story of prisoners vs guards in a football match with sabotage all around. In a really humourous manner and a cliche ending (= I'll continue tomorrow night. Dead beat now. Pissed...ranted...done +++
